What happens when pets and art collide? The answer lies in a unique event held at the renowned Tsutaya Books, located in Shanghai’s Shang Sheshan Temple.

This Spanish-style building, constructed in 1924, once served as a social hub for expatriates. Nearly a century later, it has been transformed into a cultural landmark. With its spiral Corinthian columns, arcades supported by Roman pillars, and preserved old staircases, it’s more than just a bookstore—it’s a place where art thrives.

As Tsutaya Books founder Muneaki Masuda once said, “We don’t sell books, we offer a lifestyle proposal.” The space indeed invites people to spend quality time immersed in art and creativity. It’s this very philosophy that resonates with Petstar, the flagship brand under Tianyuan Pet, which brings together the elements of fashion, aesthetics, and art in the world of pets. Positioned as a “Pet Lifestyle Aesthetics+” brand, Petstar champions a symbiotic, healing relationship between humans and pets, offering more than products—it’s a lifestyle intertwined with fashion, aesthetics, and art.

This weekend (September 7th), Petstar will open the doors to an extraordinary artistic event. Invited by “JGOODS Premium Club,” Petstar will join hands with the talented South Korean artist Jooyeon Koh at Tsutaya Bookstore’s Shang Sheshan Temple location for a unique art salon. Together, they’ll explore the extraordinary moments found in everyday life through the lens of art.

This event promises not just a visual feast, but a unique experience of spiritual resonance with art.

Jooyeon Koh’s embroidery is inspired by classic animations like The Simpsons, Dragon Ball, Tom and Jerry, Sailor Moon, and Snoopy. She infuses the humor, energy, and emotions of these works into her embroidery art, creating a world where cats save the earth. She’s also deeply influenced by the master Henry Darger, incorporating his artistic spirit into her embroidered creations.

Petstar's Vision: Where Art Meets Pet Care

Art takes many forms, and perspectives on art are equally diverse. An artist may turn an idea into a painting, while a product designer might create an entirely new item from the same concept. When art blends seamlessly into daily life, it sparks creative innovation.

Tianyuan Pet has long been committed to its mission of making pet care healthier. By understanding the behavior and needs of pets, particularly cats and dogs, the company designs products that foster interaction between pets and their owners. Through the creation of new functions, themes, materials, and categories, Tianyuan Pet has developed a wide range of pet products that cater to every aspect of a pet’s life, from housing and eating to playing, clothing, hygiene, and travel.
